Two Senior High School pupils drowned at a swimming pool at the Lion of Judah Event Center in Aplaku Hills, in the Greater Accra Region’s Ga South Municipality. Oliver Tetteh, a 17-year-old St. John’s Senior High School student, and Christabel Agyekumwaa, a 19-year-old Saltpond SHS 2 student, were discovered dead in the pool. Christabel Agyekumwaa’s mother, Josephine Amoah, said her daughter left their Kasoa New Market home around 9 a.m. on Saturday to accompany her family friend Oliver Tetteh to Kasoa to repair his phone.
Both of them, she alleged, failed to return to their respective houses.
According to Josephine Amoah, the family was summoned to the SCC Police Station around 7 p.m. Monday evening, where they were informed that their children Christabel and Oliver had been found dead in a swimming pool at Lion of Judah, a newly opened Event Center in Aplaku.
A lady in charge at the event venue stated she had exited a room to fetch live jackets for the two adolescents only to return to find both of them dead in the pool within one minute, according to James Tetteh, father of the late Oliver Tetteh.
He’s been summoned by the occurrence, and he’s demanded that the police do a thorough investigation to determine whether the youngsters died of natural causes.
The bodies were later recovered and transported to the mortuary, and a police report was made.
