The tragedy unfolded on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Bepoase, just off the Asenema road. The collision occurred when a Hyundai H-100, with registration number GX 2698-18, collided head-on with a Toyota Hiace, registered as ER 804-18. According to eyewitnesses, the Toyota Hiace, loaded with food supplies and traders from the Nkurakan market, was heading towards Adukrom when it collided with the Hyundai H-100, which was en route to Koforidua from Adukrom.
The impact of the crash was devastating, leaving four individuals dead on the spot, while two others were pronounced dead upon arrival at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial and Koforidua Regional hospitals, where the victims were urgently transported.
