A 33-year-old man identified as Kojo Kyei has been shot dead for his inability to pay his electricity bills in Manu Krom near Dunkwa Offin.

Prosper, the man who killed Kojo Kyei had initially beaten Kojo Kyei’s father. According to Kojo Kyei’s father, the killer (Prosper) who is his tenant shot Kojo Kyei when he refused to pay his electrical bill. The father explained that when he questioned him to pay an amount of GHC400 which he owed previously, Kojo snubbed Prosper and went for his own metre.

He said Prosper assaulted Kojo after he questioned enquired about his reason for the new meter. The father then called his son Kojo Kyei to take him to the hospital for the injuries he had sustained when Proper beat him up.

Kojo Kyei met Prosper on their way to the hospital and Prosper immediately pulled out a gun and shot him.
