A well-known radio presenter in Sunyani, known in the media as ‘Shabatee,’ has been apprehended by the police on charges of engaging in sexual acts, including anal intercourse, with his 11-year-old biological daughter over the course of a year.
The arrest of the suspect, Clement Oti, who also works as a taxi driver, has sent shockwaves through the community. The allegations came to light when the mother of the victim noticed unusual signs on her daughter’s body. Upon questioning, the young girl confirmed the disturbing acts involving her and the suspect.
In a statement to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the mother of the victim, identified as Ahensah, stated that she immediately reported the matter to the Sunyani District Police Command, leading to the arrest of the suspect, who is currently in police custody. A subsequent medical examination confirmed the allegations, reinforcing the urgency of the ongoing police investigation. According to a reliable police source, the Bono Regional Office of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) is actively handling the case, emphasizing the seriousness with which such allegations are being addressed.
