Richard Kumadoe, a Fraud and Security Analyst, has advised Dr George Akufo Dampare to stay focused on his work to avoid distractions. He claimed that the Inspector General of Police has been listening to all viewpoints and, among other things, has been reacting to situations that deserved to be disregarded in his position.
In light of this, Mr Kumadoe said that instead of “inculcating actions of retaliation,” the IGP should consider being tolerant and letting go of such situations.
Dr. George Akufo Dampare has been accused of overreacting following his exchanges with the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson, and the Ghana Bar Association, according to the security expert.
After the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson, questioned the anticipated conclusion of the arrest of Fixthecountry Movement convener Oliver Barker-Vormawor on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, the Inspector-General of Police ordered her to learn to keep within her limitations.
In another incident, the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) rejected assertions by the Police Administration that there has been an increase in crime in the country as a result of the armed robbery of Lawyer Richard Badami on the Bole-Bamboi route in the Savanna Region.
“I was saying that, the IGP, three weeks ago, two weeks ago, and last week, he is reacting too much,” the security expert remarked on Angel FM/Anopa TV’s Bofo morning show on June 10, 2022. According to Richard Kumadoe, most Ghanaians have acquired a fondness for the former and want him to succeed, therefore he should think twice before abandoning the wonderful work he has begun.
“We genuinely care about him and want him to succeed, but if you respond too strongly, it will distract from your ability to thrive at work.” The Fraud and Security analyst added that when the IGP provides security leadership his men will be motivated to deliver their core mandate.
He hinted also that Dr. Akufo Dampare reconsiders going back to his leadership qualities, “other than that he will be shown the exit door.”
