In the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti region, at Dwinase close to Kokotro, three people have been held in police prison for the alleged murder of a 28-year-old woman. The prime suspect, 25-year-old Mary Akosua Agyemang, is accused of approaching the dead, Vida Ennin, 28, and harassing her for spreading rumors about her regarding a man they had both dated.The two ladies got into a fight on Sunday night over who had the right to be the man, an excavator operator,’s fiancée.
Mary allegedly left the fight’s scene to acquire a sharp knife. She is said to have come back and stabbed Vida in the face, breast, and hand. She died of bleeding. Later, the Bekwai police detained Mary, also known as Serwaa, together with Felicia Sarpong, 61, and Ernest Achirem, 63, on suspicion of attempting to protect Mary from detention. All three were charged on Wednesday in front of the Bekwai Circuit Court and are currently being held in police custody to aid in investigations. On April 26, they must appear in court once more.
