Two officers have been promoted by the Police Administration for their role in the arrest of a colleague cop who was allegedly apprehended while smuggling goods thought to be Indian hemp.
Inspector Azumah Komla Justice and No. 52543 G/L/CpL Felix Diameh are the two officers who have been promoted by the Police Administration.
Chief Superindent Grace Ansah-Akrofi complimented the two officers for their “patriotism, vigilance, and dedication to duty,” according to a copy of a press statement published by the Police and signed by the Director of Public Affairs.

Arrest
G/Sgt Lotsu Agbeko, a police officer assigned to the Formed Police Unit (FPU) in Accra, failed to halt at the Have Police barrier when the officers on duty signalled him to. As a result, the cops on duty pursued him, and when they reached a piece of road on the Kpeve Mountain, he was engaged in an accident and suffered a fracture to his left hand. As a result, he was apprehended and taken to the hospital for treatment. He was then taken to the Police Hospital for further medical treatment, where he is being guarded, according to the statement.
Indian hemp
The Police reportedly retrieved 84 parcels of compressed dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp from the suspect’s car. Police say the exhibits have been retained while the investigation continues. Meanwhile, the suspect will be arraigned before the court upon discharge from the hospital.
