Police in the Eastern Region have started an investigation to determine what caused the death of Isaac Dokyi,a National Service member working at the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana in Tafo in the Abuakwa North Municipality.
Eyewitnesses claim that the deceased was killed last Saturday while cycling to church when he was struck and killed by a speeding car at the Opass Junction on the main Koforidua Bunso stretch.
However, after being taken to the Akyem Tafo government hospital, medical staff there immediately declared him dead.
One suspect driver, a local who reported himself to the Akyem Tafo police, who have started an investigation into the cause of the accident, is being held to assist with the investigation.
