Four people have been detained by the Ghana Police Service on Saturday, January 28, for the robbery and murder of a security guard who was on duty at a gas station in Wassa Agona, Western Region. Francis Ebuka, Wisdom Justway, Samuel Chibuzor, and Kinglsy Okechuku, also known as Kofi Kingsly, are the suspects. The police report states that the individuals who raided the station also severely battered the fuel attendants. Along stealing the victims’ cell phones and the CCTV Digital Video Recorder (DVR) from the gas station, they also got away with an unknown sum of money.
Parts of the statement read, “Police patrol teams within the catchment area mobilized and proceeded to the scene upon receiving information concerning the robbery attack and during the course of the operation arrested suspect Francis Ebuka, Wisdom Justway, and Samuel Chibuzor who were fleeing the robbery scene on a motorbike. The suspects who had been arrested were then searched by the police. As a result, they were able to find a black hood, a handbag holding two mobile phones, and GHC 20,722.00.
Kingsly Okechuku, the fourth suspect, was tracked by the police squad to a motel close to Bogoso, where they were able to recover money from him that was believed to be part of their loot, totaling GH 44,852.00.Along with two pinch bars and a Ghana Card belonging to one of the victims, the suspects’ other goods recovered from them include the DVR parts of the CCTV equipment that they took.
Additionally, according to the police, all four suspects are in their custody at this time and will be brought before the court to answer for their crimes. They gave the populace their word that they would remain working nonstop to keep the villages safe.
