An Adentan Circuit Court has remanded a 41-year-old mason accused of having intercourse with a three-year-old girl through her anus at Amrahia, close to Adenta, into police custody. Richard Amoako, who was accused with defiling, entered a not-guilty plea. In order for the court to convene a case management conference, the prosecution was instructed to file disclosures by the next adjourned date by the court presided over by Mrs. Sedinam Awo Balokah. In order for the court to consider bail, it also instructed the Police to locate the accused’s residence.
The complainant was a 39-year-old businessman who shared an apartment with the victim in Amrahia, according to the prosecution team, which was led by Chief Superintendent of Police Patience Mario and Inspector Eric Abban. According to the prosecution, the defendant lived in the same neighborhood as the complaint and the victim. The complainant and the victim reportedly went to sell in front of the accused person’s house on February 11, 2023, at around 12:05 p.m. According to the prosecution, when the accused person approached the victim as he was walking home, the victim sobbed and yearned to follow the accused person.
When the complainant went to get the victim after the accused had taken her away, she reportedly witnessed blood “flowing from the victim’s anus.” According to the prosecution, when the complainant allegedly asked the victim who “did something to her,” she allegedly said that the accused had put his finger into her anus.
When she did, a medical form was given to the complainant, who then reported the incident to the police and was sent to the hospital for treatment, according to the report. Although the accused “did not use his finger but instead had sexual intercourse with her through her anus,” the prosecution said that investigations had proved this. According to that, the Police chose the accused.
