Unknown intruders shot the Chief of Gyengyen, a community in the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti Region, at his home.
The incident occurred on the night of Monday, June 13, 2022, during a brief power outage in the hamlet, according to reports. Nana Quansah Kpebu II was taken to the Krachi West Municipal Hospital for treatment, but was later transported to Accra’s 37 Military Hospital for further testing.
According to JoyNews sources, he was shot in the groin and would require additional medical treatment. Since then, the Krachi West Police Command has dispatched officers to the area to maintain order and keep peace.
