Kennedy Agyapong pleads not guilty to contempt charges

[Ghanacrimes.com] — Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has pleaded not guilty to charges of contempt of court.

According to his lawyer, Mr Kwame Gyan, his client had petitioned the Chief Justice over an alleged case of bias of presiding Justice Amos Wuntah Wuni, and has also filed a judicial review application at the Supreme Court challenging the jurisdiction of the court to hear the case.

His lawyer argued that it would be best for this case to be resolved first before this substantive contempt can be heard.

Kennedy Agyapong is being held for contempt for scandalising a High Court Judge with unprintable words.
