At Dzodze in the Volta Region, a young woman in her 30s was shot and killed by her boyfriend, who is presently on the run.
When police arrived at the location on Monday night, Akos Tornui, a resident of Ave-Dakpa, was shot and left in a pool of blood.
According to DSP Christian Dogbatsey, the Ketu Noth District Police Commander, he verified receiving a report on Monday night about one Akos Tornyi being shot while on her way to acquire something from a house at Dzodze Totsoanyi by a man named Kwashivi Ahiafor.
Residents report that Akos has relocated to Dzodze Totsoanyi to be with her fiancé, Kwashivi Ampra Ahiafor, who is around 50 years old.
However, they claim that there hasn’t been a single day without matrimonial problems, including fights and quarreling. Kwashivi recently complained of missing money, which he accused Akos of stealing and reported to the police, leading them to believe that the killing was a result of the earlier accusations.
DSP Christian Dogbatsey said his guys are on the lookout for the alleged killer and asked for the public’s assistance in the inquiry.
“We can’t collect enough detail to determine the cause of the death because the suspected perpetrator is on the run… “As a result, we are appealing to the general public to assist us in locating him and any associated information,” he stated.
The victim’s body has been taken to the morgue for an autopsy and additional investigation. The victim’s family has yet to issue a public statement.
