A 41-year-old Ghanaian woman was shot dead on Cambridge Street in Worcester, Massachusetts, by unidentified assailants, according to the police, who have since confirmed her death.
The woman was one of two Ghanaian women who were shot at 7 PM on Saturday, according to a report on Asaaseradio.com. The hospital where the victim was taken for treatment declared her dead.
The second victim, a lady who had also been shot, was carried to the hospital, but she had sustained less damage. The two women, who resided with the victim at the Cambridge Street residence, were identified by neighbors to be from Ghana and prominent members of Worcester’s West African commercial sector. However, the woman’s identify was not disclosed by the police in its report.
Meanwhile, the police say they are looking for a red Toyota Camry that was seen leaving the scene while they investigate what led to the shooting.
