According to reports, a galamsey pit collapsed on a young man, killing him in Denkyira of the Kwahu West District. The young man, who was reportedly in his late 20s, was gathering sand around the hole.
Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi of Rainbow Radio said that the young man works at the galamsey location. The young man, according to him, has not yet been named. The incident happened on January 30, 2023, a Monday.
The dead, who came to the area to work at the galamsey site, was discovered to be from Odumase. Police have been notified of the occurrence, and the body has been sent to the mortuary for additional inquiry.
