Residents of Assin Fosu Nsuakye, in the Central region’s Assin Fosu municipality, witnessed the awful sight of a five-month-old foetus thrown in a trash site.
The aborted baby, a boy, was discovered dead with the placenta.
It contained a blood-stained handkerchief, which appears to be one of the supplies used in the illegal conduct, but no one has yet claimed responsibility.
However, Chief Supt. Cephas Arthur, the Assin Fosu District Police Commander, and his colleagues from CID and DOVVSU have launched an investigation into the matter.
Assin Fosu’s environmental department also buried the foetus.
