A 54-year-old farmer, Kwasi Ahoku, has been allegedly shot to death by the police at his residence at Maamekrobo in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District of the Eastern Region. The occurrence took place on Friday, February 3, 2023, about 6:30 am.
In an effort to get the deceased out of his home for questioning after a Fulani herdsman stated that a farmer who was thought to be the deceased shot and killed his livestock, the police are accused of being the cause of the death.
Evans Kyei Ntiri, a member of the South District Assembly, voiced his anger with the tragic incident that took place in his region. He explained that the District Police Commander had called and told him about the incident. He claimed that when the police arrived at the residence of the dead (Kwasi Ahoku), they attempted to engage in physical combat.
He asserted to the police that he also had a gun, which heightened the situation and caused numerous warning shots to be fired into the sky. When the cops entered the room, they discovered the man dead and next to his gun. To determine the true cause of the occurrence, we are currently looking into the subject, according to Mr. Ntiri. According to police, the event is being investigated, and they are looking for anyone who can provide them with information about it.
