Falling chop box causes death of eight in Sawla

[Ghanacrimes.com] —- A fatal road accident occuring on March 18th, 2021, claimed eight lives at Sawla in the Savannah Region.

Daily Guide reports that the accident was caused by a chop box falling on the path of one of the vehicles involved in the accident.

The driver of one the cars, a Benz sprinter, with registration number AS 3022-15 en route Kumasi from Wa, alleged that he was overtaken by a Ssangyong Minibus at the outskirts of Sawla and in the process causing the fall of a chop box from the minibus onto its path.

The Benz Sprinter rammed into the chop box causing the explosion of its front tyres and eventually losing control and crashing into a nearby bush.

Eight lives were reportedly lost in the accident and their bodies deposited at the Wa Regional Hospital mortuary while the injured are receiving treatment at same facility.
