Toyota Ghana sends CEO to court over dud cheques

[Ghanacrimes.com] — Nareswar Singh, the CEO of Global Motor Trading Company Limited, is facing charges of issuing dud cheques to Toyota Ghana Company Limited after purchasing five Toyota cars.

Mr. Singh has been granted bail after pleading not guilty to the counts of defrauding under false pretenses and issuing false cheques. The case is currently being presided by Mr. Emmanuel Essandoh and has been postponed to 1st September, 2020.

Mr. Singh, on 18th April, 2019, bought these five cars at a cost of Ghc1.8million which was paid through Letters of Credit. The two banks where the cheques were presented to have been invited to assist in investigations.
