A man named Ali Omaru, who works at a car wash in Ghana, has been given a big punishment of 15 years in jail. On August 31, 2023, he went into Rose Okwan’s house and took a rice cooker, a big bag of rice, and a watch. He also broke some things in her house.
The court, led by Mr. Malcom Bedzra, said Omaru was guilty, and he agreed with it. The police explained that Omaru and Okwan were neighbors. When he took the things, he used a tool called a pickaxe to get into the house. He even pointed a knife at Okwan’s sister so she wouldn’t make noise. Then the police caught him and found the stolen things at his home.
Omaru got 15 years in jail for the stealing, and he also has to spend a week in jail for going into the house and breaking things. This story shows how important it is to tell the police if you see something suspicious happening.
