In Kuano, Eastern Region, Ghana, a tragic fight occurred between two brothers, resulting in the younger sibling’s death over a missing GH¢10. These brothers, Moses Tetteh (50 years old) and Tetteh Kwaku (48 years old), were known for heavy drinking, which often led to arguments between them.
On the day of the fight, Tetteh Kwaku realized his GH¢10 was missing and suspected his older brother, Moses, of taking it. He accused Moses of theft and grabbed a sharp tool called a cutlass. The two brothers engaged in a physical altercation, and even their parents couldn’t separate them.
During the fight, Tetteh Kwaku used the cutlass to harm his brother, and in self-defense, Moses grabbed a fufu pestle, hitting Tetteh Kwaku on the neck and jaw. The violent conflict ended when Tetteh Kwaku lost consciousness. Tragically, he was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Moses Tetteh has been arrested and charged with manslaughter, awaiting trial in police custody.
