A young woman in Ghana was brutally murdered by her boyfriend after he saw pictures of another man on her phone. The victim, 25-year-old Victoria Tetteh, was a hairdresser living in Dunkwa Mfoum. She had been dating her boyfriend, known as Dominic aka Obuasi, for some time. He had given her a new phone as a gift, but became enraged after discovering photos of her with another man. The couple argued, and Victoria left to stay with her sister.
Dominic followed her to her sister’s house, where a fight ensued. The sister attempted to intervene, but was too late to prevent the tragic outcome. Dominic used a building block to beat Victoria to death. Her body was discovered by police, who have now launched an investigation and are searching for the suspect. The incident has once again brought to light the issue of domestic violence in Ghana, and the need for more support for victims.
