Alex Mould, the former CEO of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), and a woman named Gavivina Tamakloe are scheduled to appear in court on July 5 in connection with the’missing’ Ex-MASLOC boss. The two people who executed the GHc5m bail payment as sureties for the Ex-MASLOC boss were Tamakloe, formerly with National Theatre, and Alex Mould.
Ex-MASLOC chief Sedina Christine Tamakloe Ationu, 1st Accused, has been absent from court since October 2021 after being granted permission to travel overseas for medical treatment.
The two are required to appear in court and explain why they should not pay the GHc5 million bail sum to the state, according to the forfeiture processes filed by the state. Efforts to get her in front of a judge are intensifying. The second accused person, Daniel Axim, a former MASLOC operations manager, was present in court. They’ve been charged with stealing and causing a GH93 million loss to the state, among other things. They are accused of conspiring to steal, stealing, unauthorised commitment, resulting in a financial responsibility for the government, incorrect payment, money laundering, and violating the Public Procurement Act, among other accusations.
While at MASLOC, the two accused persons allegedly stole a total of GH3,198,280 and caused a GH1,973,780 financial loss to the state. Ms. Attionu and her accomplice allegedly made improper agreements while in charge of MASLOC, resulting in financial obligations for the government of GH61,735,832.50. While in charge, the two are also accused of causing a loss to public property of GH22,158,118.85, inappropriate payment of GH273,743.66, and money laundering of GH3,704,380.
