Some aggrieved parents, today stormed the premises of Abetifi Senior High School popularly known as (APSEC) in the Kwahu east district in the eastern region demanding immediate retraction of a theft allegation levelled against their wards which has finally proved to be false. According to the parents, they were called by a good samaritan informing them about an action which has being taken against their children including an arrest and detention the school and Abetifi police command have made without their notice which has prevented the students from writing their exams.
Speaking with one of the aggrieved parents, Mr. Ofori Boateng, alleged that the headmaster, Dr Franklin Akuffo Otibu, some time ago assaulted his son by given him slaps which he did not outer a word. The headmaster on numerous occasions striped his son naked claiming his school uniform is for the president Akuffo Addo. Mr. Ofori Boateng said per the report they received, the senior house master of the school reported to the headmaster Dr. Franklin Akuffo Otibu about some stolen gadgets including mobile phones which has been taken place in the school. without conducting internal investigation, Dr. Franklin Akuffo Otibu invited Abetifi police command to effect an arrest of some four students.
According to Mr Boateng, the school later arrested the perpetrators and released the four students without any apology and refused them to partake in the ongoing examination. This infuriated the parents leading to their call for apology from the school authorities, upon realizing the headmaster’s resistance, they invaded the school to demand for fair treatment for their wards resulting into a brawl. An attempt to speak with Dr Frank Akuffo Otibu proved futile as he claims, the issue has been referred to the national secretariat.
