Following his claimed involvement in a series of crimes in the area, unknown individuals lynched a suspected thief at Esaso in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti. A 40-year-old man who has only been named as Thunder, is accused of stealing a motorcycle in the region. Unfortunately for him, some unknown members of the community spotted him and set up an ambush, leading to his capture and lynching on Monday, June 13, 2022 in the early hours of the morning.
In an interview with OTEC News Kwame Agyenim Boateng, some eyewitnesses who witnessed the deceased’s motionless corpse claimed they suspect the accused thief. His assailants pelted him with stones, sticks, and metals until he finally gave up the ghost.
Mr Kwasi Obeng, the unit committee chairman for the Esaso-Adankwame Electoral Area, said he awoke in the morning to find the body in the gutter and was unable to identify those involved in the lynching. “I had to call the cops for a follow-up inquiry because the scene was terrifying to witness.” He went on to say that the lifeless body, which had been found in a pool of blood in a gutter, had been taken to a mortuary for preservation and examination by local cops.
