Secessionist group robs police station and blocks main roads in Volta Region

[] — Some members of secessionist group, Western Togoland, have attacked two Police stations in the Volta Region and made away with some weapons.

They forcibly broke into the Aveyime and Mepe Police stations in the North Tongu District. They overpowered the police and made away with all their weapons.

According to eye witness, they undressed the Police men and locked them in the cells. The secessionist group were said to be numbering from 50 to 60 men. They chanted war songs after their operations.

They also used heaps of sand to block the Mepe-Sege road and the Accra-Ho road at Juapong, preventing the flow of traffic.
