Kwesi Krampah, 53, has been given a 24 months prison term by the Tema Circuit A for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl and sticking his finger into her vagina. He will serve hard labor in prison for 24 months. The accused was sentenced in the courtroom presided over by Ms. Agnes Opoku Banie after he admitted guilt to the accusations.
The complainant, who is the victim’s father, resides in Dawhenya, according to prosecuting officer chief inspector Barnabas Nifanting, while the accused is employed as a security officer at a business close to the complainant’s home. The complainant and the victim frequently frequented a footpath in front of the accused’s place of employment, according to the prosecution.
The victim was sent by her mother to buy meat near the accused’s security station on September 13, 2022, at around 18:00. The victim ripped off her slippers and sat down next to the accused’s security post while she was carrying the meat back to her house. The offender observed the victim and led her into the security post under the guise of showing her something, according to Chief Inspector Nifanting. The perpetrator shoved the victim into a broken chair and covered her month once the victim was alone in the security post. Inspector Nifanting claims that the accused pulled up her pant and repeatedly poked his finger into her vagina.
He also made an unsuccessful effort to insert his penis into her vagina. After the incident, the accused gave the victim a warning not to disclose what had happened, made a commitment to pay GhC100 at the end of September 2022, and part-way guided her. The victim arrived home late and in tears, the prosecution testified, and she told the complainant about her ordeal. A report was made by the complainant to the Domestic Violence and Victim Assistance Unit (Dovvsu). The complainant was given a police medical report form to take the victim to the hospital, and he or she returned it after properly endorsing it. After being detained and being subjected to an investigation, the accused was charged with the crime and brought before the court.
