The Koforidua District Court B has remanded Michael Abeiku, a commercial driver, into police prison while he awaits trial for the alleged murder of his wife at Oyoko in Koforidua in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The prosecution informed the court that its inquiries were not yet finished. As a result, it requested that the suspect be held in police custody while the investigations are ongoing. The suspect is anticipated to return to court on January 31, 2023.
The culprit, who is accused of killing his wife, 27, was added to the police’s wanted list on January 12, 2023, after making his getaway from the crime site.
However, on Sunday, January 15, 2023, a team of Police CID officials detained him at Gomoa Feteh in the Central Region, and he was charged. According to reports, the defendant butchered the dead woman after accusing her of adultery. But before the police came, he fled the scene.
